Velidhoo Unit

Established in 2023, MRC Velidhoo Unit is one of the newest MRC Units. The formation of the Unit represents a vital step in expanding humanitarian services to Noonu Atoll and ensuring communities in this region have access to MRC’s programmes and services.The Unit’s focus is on strengthening local capacity and encouraging volunteer participation, ensuring that the people of Velidhoo and the atoll are better prepared, supported and resilient through Programmes & Service delivery.

As a newly established Unit, Velidhoo Unit is working steadily to establish its roots and build trust within the community. It has already begun delivering core services in emergency response, First Aid Service and education, Health and wellbeing initiatives such as the  healthy ageing Programme, while laying the groundwork for broader initiatives in disaster risk reduction, climate action, and community outreach.
